Hi, uh, itβs been a bit hasnt it. Yea, so work and school took up alot of time. Got to work in Kentucky and now ive been going to school at Osaka! Been busy and I will definitely post my older trips here, but for now I want to keep it more recent.
One of the reasons why I chose to go to Hamamatsu was because of location. It is right between Osaka and Tokyo and is a very quiet and interesting place to visit. Because of this, I wanted to visit. I was also a big fan of the show Yuru Camp in high school, so I wanted to visit the locations from the show in real life!
Starting the trip, I took the Shinkansen to Hamamatsu. Got some time to rest and played games on my 3ds that I recently joined!

After this, I arrived in Hamamatsu, having time to get lunch⦠at a Macdonolds. I know its lame, but Im trying to save money for a meal for the next day. After this the sightseeing tour begins.
Before I left, I ended up visiting the yuru camp exhibition, with 10th year anniversary and where I spent a bit too much moneyβ¦

Anyways the first place I visited was Iwate. It was a long train and bus to the shrine, but the shine, Misuke Tenjin, is famous for its Dog Deity, Shippeitaro. It is said in legends that the town was forced to make sacrifices for monsters until a traveling priest found Shippeitaro, who scared away the monsters.
I ended up praying at the main shrine for good health (bruh π), and then got a mini Shippeitaro! What I learned after buying it was that it also had a fortune. I read it, was a bit confused, and almost walked out until I asked a local, who explained me the different types of fortunes I could get and how to tie it if it was bad. Mine was a very neutral fortune so I wanted to tie mine just in case to keep my future open! (This was explained to me, I was very confused)

After this, I headed in the other direction, visiting the the Bentenjinma Torri Gate. It was a very beautiful gate in the middle of the harbor, and looked great at dusk time.

Walking into the other islands in the area, I also got to visit a campsite which was featured in the city. Excluding the horrible wind, it was very beautiful to see the sun set and to see all the tents set up, reminding me that I should do some camping myself more!

What suprsied me the most was that they also had more Yuru Camp merch here too!! Had to say goodbye to my wallet from at the merch today ππ. They even had stickers from when they had a collab with Stag, the camping equipment company!

Honestly today was a pretty fun day visiting all these different places. Got to explore more of an underrated part of Japan and also got to see one of my favorite shows and all of itβs locations in real life! Next post, will be the next day and also hostel review!
